EDAConnect/PCB enables a bi-directional integration between the ECAD design environment and your Oracle/Agile PLM system. ECAD engineers are provided with the most up-to-date enterprise information and the ability to publish critical engineering data to the enterprise without leaving their familiar EDA environment. EDAConnect presents the relevant enterprise data to the engineers, project leads, managers and librarians while enabling other roles in the enterprise to unobtrusively gain safe access to engineering work-in-progress design data.
EDAConnect is the cornerstone to effective engineering data management, allowing the seamless transformation of engineering and enterprise data into reusable information by presenting data at the right time and in the right format. The transformation of data into information is enabled by the following EDAConnect product features:
- Part Selection: Real-time Access to current parametric data, such as technical specifications, cost and availability.
- Part Verification: Audit the parts in use for a design to ensure consistency against corporate approved parts list.
- BOM Upload & Redlining: Extract and upload the BOM from ECAD tools to support the redline processes.
- Check-In/Check-Out: Enable collaboration and reuse by placing all relevant design files and BOM, including static design, viewable together with version control.
- Archive: Bundle all related ECAD design files and create a static viewable of the design to facilitate enterprise collaboration with manufacturing.
- Snapshot: Manage Work-In-Progress (WIP) ECAD design data by organizing and versioning all related ECAD files into a bundle to be loaded into your Oracle/Agile PLM system.
- Viewing/Markup: View and markup ECAD design files stored locally or checked into Oracle/Agile, without the need for the authoring tool license.
